GTA IV's opening mission. Niko gets off the boat in Liberty City, meets his cousin Roman in Hove Beach, and learns very quickly that the American Dream he was promised was a lie.

Roman calls Niko in to deal with the loan sharks who've been beating him. Niko grabs a bat, runs them down across Hove Beach, and reminds them who Roman's cousin is.

Roman wants Niko to drive him and his date Mallorie out for the night. The evening goes sideways at Firefly Island when loan sharks corner them in the parking lot.

Roman has been kidnapped by Vlad's enforcers. Niko tracks down a Russian witness, beats the location out of him, and storms a warehouse to drag Roman home alive.

Roman teaches Niko the cab business. Niko picks up a fare in Hove Beach and runs him through Broker traffic past police pursuit to a Schottler delivery.

Roman owes Vlad money. Niko introduces himself to Vlad's circle by running an enforcer job — collecting a debt at gunpoint from a stash house in Schottler.

Little Jacob calls Niko to back him up on a deal in Schottler. The deal goes sideways and Niko shoots his way out, learning about cover and crouch on the streets of Broker.

Vlad has been sleeping with Mallorie. Niko corners him under the L tracks and ends the Russian's scheme — sparking the full mob war that swallows the early game.

Vlad orders Niko to steal a police car for a heist setup. Niko bumps a cruiser, takes it from the cop, and outruns the LCPD pursuit before delivering the car to Vlad.

Mikhail Faustin sends Niko to a cop hangout disguised as a pharmacy to wipe out a Russian rival before he talks. Quiet entry, loud exit through Hove Beach traffic.

Mikhail wants the head of a rival lieutenant. Niko intercepts him at Willis subway, chases him through carriages, and finishes the job before he hits the next stop.

Mikhail orders Niko to retrieve his brutally beaten lieutenant Anton from a warehouse. Niko shoots through Russians and Brucie's bodyguards before extracting Anton alive.

Brucie hires Niko for a string of stolen-car runs around Liberty City. Niko boosts each high-end target without scratching the paint, then delivers it to Brucie's lockup.

Dimitri orders the hit on Mikhail Faustin. Niko climbs the Russian boss's mansion in Beachgate, fights through bodyguards, and finishes Mikhail on the rooftop balcony.

Dimitri's betrayal — Niko walks into a Hove Beach warehouse meet that turns into a trap. Niko fights through Russian gunmen and Bulgarin's enforcers as the alliance collapses.

Dimitri burns Roman's apartment and taxi depot to the ground. Niko escapes the inferno, drags Roman away from the destruction, and sets up the move to Bohan's projects.

Elizabeta sends Niko, Johnny Klebitz, and Playboy X to recover heroin from a NOOSE-controlled hospital. Niko leads a rooftop assault and clears every floor of the building.

Elizabeta's last job for Niko before her arrest. She sends him to deliver a transplant heart to a corrupt surgeon — chaotic chase ensues through Bohan when the cops show.

Francis McReary wants a corrupt journalist silenced before he prints. Niko sits in on the interview, then ambushes the reporter when he leaves the Westminster police station.

Francis McReary needs a Northwood drug lord eliminated. Niko climbs the project tower in Holland, fights through layers of bodyguards, and finishes the dealer in his penthouse.

Francis McReary needs an LCPD informant taken out before he testifies. Niko lures the snitch out with a phone call, ambushes him on the way, and finishes the loose end.

Patrick McReary takes Niko down to the East Hook docks where they hijack a Russian truck full of contraband and outrun a docks-wide ambush back to Algonquin.

Patrick has Niko ambush a Russian crew at Meadow Hills with a four-seater. Niko grabs the bagged hostage, races south through Algonquin traffic, and delivers him for ransom.

Niko's bank-robbery mission with the McReary brothers. Still considered one of the best-staged scenes in any GTA.

Derrick wants old IRA enemy Bucky Sligo dead. Niko tracks Bucky to a fight at the Berchem Boxing Club in Alderney and shoots him as he leaves the gym in a hurry.

Ray Boccino's opening: hit Teddy Benavidez at his Northwood penthouse. Niko climbs the high-rise, fights through Dominicans, and throws Teddy off the roof for Ray.

Ray uses Niko as a moving collection service. Niko drives a garbage truck across Algonquin, picks up sealed Lost MC payouts at three drop spots, and brings the truck back to Drusilla's.

TLAD episode opener for Ray Boccino. Johnny Klebitz and the Lost track stolen diamonds across Liberty City through a Stretch chase to a final shootout in the Bronx warehouse.

Ray Boccino has Niko clean up the diamond mess. Niko tracks the buyer to the Westdyke industrial yard, ambushes the deal, and lifts the cash before the Russians close in.

Ray Boccino has Niko handle the Liberty City Museum diamond exchange. The deal is a setup — Niko shoots his way out of the museum atrium as Lost MC bikers crash the meet.

Derrick wants Niko to back him up on a meet at the LCPA dock with an old IRA contact. The contact comes packing — Niko shoots his way out as the meeting falls apart.

Derrick wants federal witness Aiden O'Malley dead before he testifies. Niko intercepts the prison transport convoy in the Booth Tunnel and finishes O'Malley before backup arrives.

Francis or Derrick — one McReary brother has to die. Niko picks his side, climbs to a sniper roost above the Memorial Park, and pulls the trigger on the chosen target.

Niko, Packie, and Kate attend the McReary brother's funeral. The procession through Algonquin gets ambushed — Niko mans the hearse's gun and fights the shooters off in transit.

Ray sends Niko to the Majestic Hotel to put down a Russian contact who's gone rogue. Niko clears each guarded suite floor by floor and ends the target on the roof.

Phil Bell sends Niko to hijack a Triad heroin truck on the move in Alderney. Niko takes out the cab, fights through the escort cars, and drives the rig back to Phil's depot.

Pegorino sends Niko on a coke deal at Acter Industrial Park that goes sideways fast. Niko fights through Triads and Lost MC bikers and recovers the briefcase by helicopter.

Pegorino wants the Ancelottis hurt for muscling in. Niko ambushes their convoy on the Algonquin Bridge, takes the cars apart, and walks the bridge before LCPD arrives.

Phil Bell has Niko intercept a heroin shipment coming in by speedboat at the Alderney pier. Niko takes a Squalo offshore, sinks rivals, and brings the heroin home to Phil.

Pegorino wants ex-capo Goldberg killed in his hospital bed. Niko infiltrates the Schottler Medical Center as a paramedic, slips past staff, and finishes Goldberg in his ICU room.

Phil Bell tracks rivals who've been hitting Pegorino shipments to a Westdyke construction site. Niko climbs the unfinished tower in waves of cover fire and finishes the target up top.

Phil Bell has Niko stop a Triad attempt to hijack their heroin shipment. Niko sets up an ambush along the Alderney coast, fights off the Triads, and clears the road for the truck.

Playboy X needs photos of his old gang rival Marlon Bridges. Niko corners Marlon at Swinger Park, clears the basketball court of his crew, and snaps the headshot.

Playboy X sends Niko to a Northwood construction site to settle a Russian payroll dispute. Niko climbs a half-built tower, fights through site workers, and finishes the foreman.

Niko rescues Roman from kidnappers — emotional beat for IV's central duo.

ULP sends Niko to grab an Algonquin financier with terrorist ties. Niko storms the helipad ambush, drags the target alive into a chopper, and delivers him to the rendezvous.

ULP wants a former agent dead. Niko climbs the Funland abandoned theme park, fights through paranoid mercenaries, and finishes the man inside the park's central building.

The United Liberty Paper agent has Niko fly an Annihilator chopper to the rooftop of a hotel under siege, extract a target alive, and bring him back to The Triangle ahead of pursuit.

ULP's contact has Niko intercept a foreign agent on a motorbike chase across Algonquin. Little Jacob rides shotgun while Niko forces the contact off the road and recovers his briefcase.

Packie's sister Gracie has been kidnapped — and Niko has to deliver the ransom diamond exchange. The deal collapses into a chase across Algonquin under fire from the Ancelottis.

Ray Boccino tells Niko where to find Florian Cravic — the man Niko has been hunting since Eastern Europe. Niko corners him in a Middle Park penthouse for the long-awaited reunion.

Pegorino wants Ray Boccino silenced before he becomes a federal asset. Niko ambushes Ray as he packs to flee the country and finishes him at Coquettes apartment in Algonquin.

Gravelli has Niko escort a federal witness into a deal — but the meet is a trap. Niko fights the witness's escort out of an Algonquin garage and through Liberty City traffic.

Don Jon Gravelli wants a Korean Triad rival hit at a packed Cipriani's restaurant. Niko slips in, clears the kitchen and dining room of bodyguards, and finishes the target.

Gravelli sends Niko to wreck a Pegorino-aligned trucking depot in Acter. Niko hits each rig with a rocket launcher and clears the lot before reinforcements arrive.

ULP delivers on the deal: the agent gives Niko the location of Darko Brevic, the man who betrayed his unit in the war. Niko meets the prisoner at Francis International Airport.

Pegorino offers Niko one last job: a heroin deal with the Ancelottis at Honkers. Niko has to choose between taking the money with Pegorino or refusing and ending the alliance.

The 'Deal' branch ending. Niko, Phil, and Pegorino's crew run the Ancelotti heroin deal at Charge Island. The exchange collapses and Niko shoots his way out across the docks.

Niko's penultimate mission. Roman's wedding to Mallorie ends in disaster as Pegorino's gunmen open fire on the church reception, killing one of Niko's loved ones.

The 'Deal' branch finale. Niko hunts Dimitri Rascalov on a Charge Island freighter for the last reckoning, fights through guards, and confronts him in the cargo hold.

The 'Revenge' branch finale. Niko and Roman chase Pegorino across Liberty City — boat, helicopter, on foot to the abandoned casino site for GTA IV's final showdown.

Dwayne Forge wants the man who's been with his ex Cherise put down. Niko tails the target's car across Algonquin and runs him off the road in a tight pursuit.

Dwayne sends Niko to a Triangle Club to handle a debtor in the back. Niko clears the club through bouncers, finds the target backstage, and finishes him in the dressing room.

Playboy X wants Dwayne Forge dead — Niko has to choose. Either kill Dwayne for Playboy's $25k or kill Playboy for Dwayne's friendship. The choice locks out one of the two for good.
